Eleanor E Sahn, MD grew up in California and graduated from Stanford University cum laude. She received her MD degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine graduating cum laude and was ranked 7th in her class of 105. She received several awards including the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha award for academic excellence. She then completed a 3 year residency and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She served as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine for one year at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Dr. Sahn completed her dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and became Board Certified in 1988. She then joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina as head of the Division of Pediatric Dermatology, holding joint faculty positions in both the Dermatology and the Pediatric departments for 11 years. She reached the position of Associate Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics, was in charge of all pediatric consultations, and headed the dermatology medical student teaching program. She published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. She served on numerous committees including the American Academy of Dermatology Board of Directors and the Medical School Admissions Committee.

Dr. Sahn opened Sahn Dermatology (aka Daniel Island Dermatology) in 1999 while remaining on the teaching staff at MUSC. She has special interests in melanoma and skin cancer prevention, pediatric and medical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Sahn has received the Best Doctors in America award every year for more than 20 years. This award is given to the top 5% of US physicians based on surveys of physicians across America. Dr. Sahn is Board Certified in Dermatology, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, is a Fellow of the American Acedemy of Dermatology, and is an active member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Charleston Dermatological Society and the South Carolina Dermatology Association.

Outside of dermatology, Dr. Sahn enjoys ballroom dancing with her husband Tod, long walks with their dogs Rocky and Bailey, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
